BATCHING

When you enter you may be asked to select a batch.  Currently we only batch start the LONG and SHORT courses as they are the two distances that need it.

Batches start in 2 minute intervals each with its own corrected start time (so called 'mat to mat'.

Please select which batch you’d like to start based on the following criteria, but please be considerate when making your choice as it will have an impact on others:

LONG COURSE:
Batch A (Elite):

Top 25% Overall – If you are regularly finishing in the top 25% of the overall field (NOT category), then you qualify to run in this batch. For example, if there are 400 runners and you usually finish in the top 100, you would choose batch A.

Batch B (Fast):

26 – 50% Overall – If you are regularly placing between 26% and 50% of the overall field (NOT category), then you qualify to run in this batch. For example, if there are 400 runners and you usually finish between 101st place and 200th place, you would choose batch B.

Batch C (Average):

51 – 75% Overall – If you are regularly placing between 51% and 75% of the overall field (NOT category), then you qualify to run in this batch. For example, if there are 400 runners and you finish between 201st place and 300th place, you would choose batch C.

Batch D (Jogging):

Higher than 76% Overall – If you are regularly placing in the bottom 25% of the overall field (NOT category), then you qualify to run in this batch. For example, if there are 400 runners and you finish between 301st place and 400th place, you would choose batch D.

SHORT COURSE:
Batch E (Elite):

Top 25% Overall – If you are regularly finishing in the top 25% of the overall field (NOT category), then you qualify to run in this batch. For example, if there are 400 runners and you finish in the top 100, you would choose batch E.

Batch F (Fast):

26 – 50% Overall – If you are regularly placing between 26% and 50% of the overall field (NOT category), then you qualify to run in this batch. For example, if there are 400 runners and you finish between 101st place and 200th place, you would choose batch F.

Batch G (Average):

Batch H (Jogging):

Batching T&C's
  • Your batch will be written on your race number, if NOT written in then there is no batching.

  • Batches will start in 2 minute intervals.

  • Your race time is taken from the time of the start of your batch to the time that you cross the finish line. I.e. if you run the long course start time is 09:00 and you are in batch C, then your start time will be at 09h04, not 09h00, and your race result will be the total time from 09:04 to the finish.

  • There will only be one entrance to the starting pen and this entrance will be marshalled. They will only let you in if the batch number on your race number coincides with the batch that is about to start. Listen to announcements to make sure you start in the correct batch.

  • If you enter on the day, you will have the opportunity to choose a batch, but batches are limited and if the batch you wanted to choose is full you will need to pick a different batch.

  • If you want to run with a friend who runs in a slower batch, you are allowed to start in the later batch. However, the onus is on you to have this corrected otherwise your time will not be adapted after you start, and your start time will remain as it is on the timing system.

  • If you are caught starting in an earlier batch from the one that you are allocated to, you will be disqualified. Please make sure you're on time for your start batch, we will not adapt your time if you start in a later batch than the one you were supposed to start in.

  • Any exceptions to this will be at the discretion of the timing manager.

"I was amazed at how on time everything ran"

“Hello! ☀️ I just wanted to say thank you so much for last night’s event! I was amazed at how on time everything ran. The  route markings were also soooo clear and visible! Really helped a lot!  I wasn’t really thinking of entering the other races in the series, but just based off of how great last night was I think I’ll enter all three! Thanks again! 🏃🏻‍♀️”
