You may or may not have noticed the subtle change in the prize-giving structure at the Spur Trail Series™?
In a nutshell, we have refocused the prize-giving structure so that we can offer more for the top three overall in the Spur Trail Series™ Championship and Challenge across all categories, as well as build more value into the spot prizes.
What does this mean? Well, from the 2014 Spur Gauteng Winter Trail Series™ onwards, individual race-by-race prizes will only be awarded to the top three men and ladies over the line in both the Championship and Challenge routes, as well as the three junior categories. In the overall Spur Trail Series™ Championship and Challenge (over four races), prizes for the podium places across all of the categories will still apply.
Why, you ask? Well, instead of spreading the available prize pool thinly across all categories at all of the races in a Spur Trail Series™, we would rather turn up the prize value for the overall Championship and Challenge Series as a whole. As a result, winners across all the Championship and Challenge categories from ‘minimee’ to master will receive a voucher for a pair of adidas shoes. At an average value of R1,500, that’s worth racing for!
In total, there is over R40,000 worth of adidas vouchers alone up for grabs over the four races in a Spur Trail Series™ - as well as over R35,000 worth of spot prizes, including 20 pairs of adidas shoes up for the taking.
When you add the Spur vouchers, prize money and the one of a kind hand-made category trophies, you can see why the battle up front is as fierce as the trail under foot!
Just remember you need to be at the prize giving to win, so drop that lucky draw ticket in the lucky draw tub and soak up the unique Spur Trail Series™ vibe while you await your fame and fortune!
